Join Yours Outdoors for a home-grown taste tour of the Haliburton Highlands. Start your day with an informative wild edibles hike in the company of a knowledgeable local guide, moving on to the Wintergreen Barn where you will learn to make your own Haliburton Tortiere or Maple Syrup Pie. Guess what's for lunch! Just up the road we will visit a family run organic farm, Waverly Brook Farms, for four seasons of flavour followed by a behind the scenes tour of Moon Shadows Estate Winery, a unique winemaker who uses maple syrup and fruit to produce some incredibly tasty wine. Tour includes free samples! Cap off the day with an optional fine dining experience, Haliburton-style!

Tastes of Haliburton - Sample Itinerary

8:30 am Meet at the town docks in Haliburton.
Introductions and overview of itinerary. Travel to Snowden Park for hike.
9:15-10:30 Walk about on trails identifying and sampling (where appropriate) teas and other wild delights of Haliburton County.
10:45-12:30 Return to Wintergreen for an out of the ordinary country kitchen experience of preparing a Haliburton Tortiere, a French-Canadian tradition with a Haliburton twist using local ingredients. Lunch is a delicious family-style meal in a reconstructed 1892 timber-framed barn.
1:00-2:30 Gather up at Waverly Brook Farm, a five generation family farm working with the four seasons, and leave with a "Gift from the Land" organic sampler.
3:00-4:30 A fascinating behind-the-scenes look at a small scale maple syrup winemaker. A visit to Moon Shadows Estate Winery includes taste teasing samples and time to browse the interesting wine and collectables shop.
5:00-6:30 Time to relax and get refreshed for evening dinner
6:30-8:00 A casual dining experience with the group at one of Haliburton's finest restaurants will top off a great day of food, fun and activity.
