Baked and Battered Cottage Bakery and Fish Fry

Baked and Battered take their fish & chips VERY seriously… and have developed their own gluten-free batter that fries into a beautiful, crispy crust. They use the highest quality fish we can source:  Halibut, Pickerel and Haddock. In fact, their Halibut comes in whole fletches (an entire side of fish) which they hand-cut and dredge in their homemade batter, in their kitchen. They also carry a number of items for those looking for something a bit different: fried clams, chicken fingers, breaded scallops, even Coconut Shrimp.  

In their café/bakery, they strive to hand-make their products with fresh, natural ingredients, and organic raw cane sugar wherever possible. They never use high fructose corn syrup, artificial ingredients, or preservatives and most everything is made in-house, from scratch.  Their way of baking is labour intensive and takes a good deal of time - but they believe it’s worth it!  They approach their daily bakes carefully to avoid excessive end-of-day waste.  That means, come early for the best selection!  Some of their popular early morning favourites include handmade croissant, pain au chocolate, Danish, quiche, scones, muffins…

They also have some great lunch selections! Throughout the winter, Craig is busy whipping up daily hot dishes like Lasagna with Kale, Shepherd’s Pie, Tuna Noodle Casserole, Butter Chicken, and Rockin’ Morrocan Stew to name a few – as well as a scrumptious Soup of the Day. And all year round the menu sports gourmet sandwiches and salads. In 2016, they introduced a new selection of fresh lunch items, including Paninis, Smoothies, and exciting Summer Salad selections.
